Everyday Inferno Theatre Company is thrilled to announce their production of Carol Lashof's The Melting Pot will play a limited run at The Access Theater in March. The play, directed by Alex Keegan and produced by Ana?s Koivisto and Katherine Sommer, features John Blaylock (The Metropolitan Playhouse), Matt DaSilva (Beauty and the Beast National Tour), Ty Gaines, Maya Jasmin (Manhattan Repertory Theatre), Franz Jones (Big River, Original Broadway production), Isaac Allen Miller, Talia Reich, and Rochelle Slovin (Russian Arts Theatre).

Tony and Emmy Award winner Hugh Jackman was honored by Museum of the Moving Image at its 27th annual Salute last night, December 11, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. Jackman wase on hand to accept his Salute, along with Alec Baldwin and Mike Nichols (both past MMI Salutees), Rachel Weisz, Anne Hathaway, Liev Schreiber, Universal's Ron Meyer, Fox's Jim Gianopulos and many of his fellow cast-mates from Les Miserables.

Museum of the Moving Image will welcome the public to its expanded and redesigned home beginning Saturday, January 15, 2011. The new museum, given striking new physical expression in a design by architect Thomas Leeser, features extraordinary new facilities for seeing, studying, enjoying and interacting with screen culture in all its forms. A dedication ceremony on Thursday, January 13, will precede the public opening.

Rochelle Slovin, Director of Museum of the Moving Image, today announced further details of the events and programs that will celebrate the grand re-opening of America's only museum dedicated to film, TV and digital media in all their forms. Transformed through a $67 million project, the Museum will open to the public on January 15, 2011, having doubled in size (from 50,000 to 97,700 square feet) and been given striking new physical expression by architect Thomas Leeser.
Museum of the Moving Image to Open Redesigned Building 1/15
Astoria's Museum of the Moving Image will open its redesigned building on January 15, 2011, the New York Times reports. The redesigned museum, designed by Thomas Leeser, will feature a glass entrance, a grand staircase, and a video wall in the lobby, as well as a new theater (seating 264) and screening room (seating 68). Museum director Rochelle Slovin told the Times, 'I had always felt that a museum about the movies should have some sense of glamour. That is part of what we've now gotten from this project.' The museum's new design also includes three additional stories, increasing the building's square footage from 50,000 square feet to 97,700 square feet.
