THE WITCHER Renewed for Fifth and Final Season; Season 4 Now in Production

Netflix has officially begun production of The Witcher Season 4 and shared a sneak peak of the cast together from the recent table read. Netflix has also greenlit Season 5 of The Witcher, which will film back-to-back with Season 4, and will be the final chapter in Geralt’s story. Seasons 4 and 5 will adapt the remaining of Sapkowski’s books, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake. See the sneak peak here!

Directed by Roy Alexander Weise, the project is structurally disruptive but ultimately too meandering and overlong. A narrator (Rochelle Rose) lays the tropes bare with bitter observations. She amplifies the intentional faux pas, but the framework gets a bit stodgy by the second round of narrative repetition.

The National Theatre has released production images for Rockets and Blue Lights. Directed by Miranda Cromwell, the play was first staged at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester before being cancelled due to Covid-19 and will now open in the Dorfman theatre from 25th August to 9th October 2021.

Director of Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Sam Hodges, Reading Rep and producer Desara Bosnja announce the cast and full tour dates for the revival of the JMK production of The Mountaintop. The tour, which includes regional venues such as Bristol Old Vic, Northern Stage and Birmingham Rep is part of a touring network to support JMK productions and productions alike have a life outside of London. The cast for Katori Hall's The Mountaintop includes Gbolahan Obisesan (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) and Rochelle Rose (Camae). The production opens on 2 October, with previews from 26 September at Nuffield Southampton Theatres and runs for two weeks ahead of national tour to Northern Stage, Northwall, Reading Rep Theatre, Leicester Curve, Bristol Old Vic and Birmingham Rep.

Audiences will again be in the safe hands of Lyric pantomime favourite Steven Webb (the Lyric's Cinderella, Aladdin and Dick Whittington and His Cat) as Jack's best friend Sprout, while joining the fun this year is the brilliant Howard Ward (War Horse, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) who makes his pantomime debut as Jack's mother Moreen Dripp.
