EAST SIDE STORIES Comes to Metropolitan Playhouse in May
Obie Award winner Metropolitan Playhouse presents a festival of five one-acts by Tom Lavagnino, Natalina Lopez, Christian Missonak, Bara Swain, and Jonathon Ward.
The limited run from May 19 through May 29, 2022, plays at the Playhouse home at 220 E 4th Street.
The 5th Annual New York Indie Theatre One-minute Play Festival Comes To New Ohio Theatre
The 5th ANNUAL NEW YORK INDIE THEATRE ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns to for its fifth year, in partnership with New Ohio Theatre. The 5th Annual NY Indie 1MPF runs three performances only; Sunday, June 2nd, Monday, June 3rd, and Tuesday, June 4th at 8pm. All performances are at New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street). Tickets, priced at $20, are available at newohiotheatre.org.
Red Branch Theatre Company Announces 2017 Season
Red Branch Theatre Company Artistic Director Stephanie Lynn Williams and Managing Director Tiffany Underwood Holmes unveiled the 2017 season titles on opening night of the current production of Evil Dead: the Musical. The season, entitled 'Mad About You' includes productions of Mad Libs Live!, Lysistrata Jones, The Bridges of Madison County, and Madagascar - A Musical Adventure.
Licensing Rights Now Available for GARFIELD and MAD LIBS Through R&H Theatricals
R&H Theatricals, a division of Rodgers and Hammerstein, An Imagem Company, has acquired the worldwide licensing rights for the popular kid's musicals GARFIELD, The Musical with Cattitude and MAD LIBS Live! GARFIELD and MAD LIBS join the previously existing TYA (Theater for Young Audiences) Collection of titles including: The Adventures of Pinocchio, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Magical Adventures of Merlin, Rapunzel! Rapunzel! A Very Hairy Fairy Tale and Red Riding Hood.

This summer, an award winning quartet of playwrights, Tony Glazer (In The Daylights, Film: Junction), John Pollono (Small Engine Repair, Lost and Found), Robin Rothstein (The Game Boy, On Deaf Ears), and Mark Jason Williams (Straight Faced Lies, Recovery), will join together for a night of one acts entitled Why Bother? directed by Andrew Block. Why Bother? Is being presented by Man Down Productions as part of the Planet Connections Festival. It begins performances tonight, May 14 and runs through June 1 at the Paradise Factory.
