BIO

Robin McNamara was one of the stars of the original Broadway production of Hair. McNamara replaced original Hair star and the shows author, Jim Rado, in the role of Claude from 1969-71. Prior to his run in the leading role, McNamara briefly performed in the Tribe ensemble and in the role of Woof.

In addition to his Broadway credit, McNamara is also well known for his 1970 pop radio hit, titled "Lay a Little Lovin' on Me," At its peak, the song reached No. 11, and charted in Canada and Australia.

It has been reported that Robin McNamara, one of the stars of the original Broadway production of Hair passed away last week, on October 21, 2021 at the age of 74.
Casting Announced For HAIR At Los Angeles LGBT Center

Casting has been announced for the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center's production of the iconic musical Hair. Under the direction of Kate Sullivan with musical direction by Jared Stein, there will be two preview performances on Wednesday, March 25, and Thursday, March 26, at 8pm. Opening is set for Friday, March 27, at 8pm in the Davidson/Valentini Theatre. The regular performance schedule will be Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7pm through April 26.
