Orchestra Lumos has shared the details of its 2023/24 season, a year after the announcement of the Connecticut ensemble's rebranding from Stamford Symphony.

Earlier this week, Carnegie Hall presented Standard Time with Michael Feinstein 'The Bad and the Beautiful'- Celebrating David Raksin and Classic Film Songs. Michael Feinstein, backed by a 12-piece band conducted by Charles Prince, sang classic songs by some of Hollywood's greatest composers. Feinstein performed music by David Raskin, the composer of the themes for The Bad and the Beautiful, Laura, and other memorable films, as well as favorites by other great masters of music for the silver screen. Sherman Chamber Ensemble Offers Music for Winds and Strings This Weekend

The Sherman Chamber Ensemble concludes its 2013 Summer Concert Series tonight, August 30th at St. Andrew's Church in Kent and Saturday, August 31st at the Lake Mauweehoo Club in Sherman with a program of music for winds and strings, including the Mozart Clarient Quintet, Prokofiev's Quintet in G Minor, Opus 39 and the world premiere of a new commissioned work by SCE Artistic Director Eliot Bailen. Performers are Jo-Ann Sternberg (clarinet), Melanie Feld (oboe), Susan Rotholz (flute), Jill Levy and Robert Zubrycki (violin), Sarah Adams (viola), Eliot Bailen (cello) and Peter Weitzner (bass).
