The world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) is a 15-piece musical group consisting of some of the best ensemble players, soloists and arrangers in jazz music, and led by famed trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis. Their show contains a wide variety of musical works, including original and historic compositions, Jazz at Lincoln Center-commissioned pieces and masterworks from celebrated musicians such as Duke Ellington, Mary Lou Williams and Charles Mingus.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in the World Premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Wynton Marsalis's The Jungle (Symphony No. 4), commissioned by the Philharmonic as the first of The New York Commissions, with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis; William Bolcom's Trombone Concerto with Principal Trombone Joseph Alessi as soloist; and Copland's Quiet City, featuring Principal Trumpet Christopher Martin and English horn player Grace Shryock in her Philharmonic solo debut.

National Singing Competition in Savannah, GA, Seeks Applicants for 21st Annual Contest, Feb 24-28
The American Traditions Competition, a vocal contest held over five days in Savannah, Georgia, has announced a call for entries for its 21st annual event from February 24-28, 2014. The deadline for entries is November 4, 2013. More than $40,000 in cash and prizes is awarded to the best of the best, with $12,000 awarded to the winner of the Courtney Knight Gaines Gold Medal. Twenty-eight singers compete in front of five celebrated judges from stage and film through two nights of quarterfinals, one night of semi-finals and one night of finals.
