Playwrights' Center McKnight Theater Artists to Present Works in Progress, 6/16
The 2013-14 Playwrights' Center McKnight Theater Artist Fellows Sun Mee Chomet, Denise Prosek and Stephen Yoakam, along with their collaborators, will present selections from works in progress on June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Southern Theater. The event is free and open to the public; advance reservations are strongly recommended and can be made at www.pwcenter.org. The Southern Theater is located at 1420 S Washington Avenue in Minneapolis.
First Annual Miami International Children's Film Festival Set for 10/25-27
South Florida's film festival scene is expanding with the launch of the first annual Miami International Children's Film Festival. Presented by the Coral Gables Art Cinema, the event will take place October 25 to 27, 2013 at the cinema, South Florida's leading art house venue, in partnership with the prestigious New York International Children's Film Festival, announced Gables Cinema Director Robert Rosenberg.
ANMT's 15 Minute Musical Series Set for 6/24-25
Once a year, every June, like clockwork, you can hear composers weeping in North Hollywood, and threatening to call attorneys, and then kissing and making up and saying they've just had the most wonderful experience of their lives. Yes, it's time for the annual 15-Minute Musical project at the Academy for New Musical Theatre: June 24th and 25th at the Met Theatre in Hollywood. For the final project of Academy's famous writers' workshop, composers and lyricists and bookwriters are put together on writing teams and are given eight short weeks to write, revise and polish a brand-new musical written for five actors whom they've never met before.

Mac et al. Receive Playwrights Center of Minneapolis Fellowships
The Playwrights' Center of Minneapolis named the recipients of the 2010-11 McKnight National Residency and Commission (Taylor Mac), McKnight Advancement Grants (Mat Smart and Deborah Stein), and McKnight Theater Artist Fellowships (Annie Enneking, Masanari Kawahara, and Robert Rosen) on June 7, 2010. The three programs provide nearly $150,000 in grants and artistic support funds and are underwritten by the Minneapolis-based McKnight Foundation.

King's Lines Ballet Brings 'Dust & Light' To NYC At The Joyce Theatre 5/5-5/10
Alonzo King's LINES Ballet is performing a special New York City engagement this week May 5 - 10, 2009 at The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19th Street). The acclaimed company is returning to The Joyce with New York premieres from the gifted choreographer: 'Dust And Light' had its world premiere in San Francisco two weeks ago. It has music by Arcangelo Corelli and Francis Poulenc, costume design by Robert Rosenwasser and lighting design by Axel Morgenthaler. 'Rasa', an exhilarating and transformative work set to tabla music composed and arranged by Zakir Hussain, with costume & stage design by Robert Rosenwasser and lighting and design by Alain Lortie is also being performed.
