The new podcast, Behind the Desk, from performers Luke Linsteadt and Melanie McSweeney, is all about the actors life, and living the dream in NYC. Since November 2017, Luke and Mel have been tackling the issues of the audition hustle, and trying to figure out the casting director's thoughts as they judge from behind the desk.
Author Julian Pleasants Receives NC Book Award
Lexington,KY—Though not quite the same as the Wildcats going into the Dean Dome to take a win, University Press of Kentucky author Julian M. Pleasants has been named the recipient of the 2015 Ragan Old North State Award Cup for nonfiction given by the North Carolina Literacy and Historical Association (NCLHA), for his book, The Political Career of W. Kerr Scott: The Squire from Haw River.
4th Wall Ends Season With LUCKY STIFF
4TH WALL THEATRE closes its 16th season with the comedy Lucky Stiff, the first musical by one of Broadway's hottest writing teams, Lynn Ahrens (book and lyrics) and Stephen Flaherty (music). This musical farce is based on the book The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo by Michael Butterworth. First produced at Playwrights Horizons off-Broadway (Richard Rodgers Award) the show later went on to win Washington's Helen Hayes Award for Best Musical.
