Richard Lynch Pays Homage To His Daddy's Gibson Guitar On New Single 'Back In 1953'
1957 was a momentous year in country music. The radio was filled with huge hits by the stars of the day: Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Ferlin Husky and Jim Reeves. Future stars like Patty Loveless, Vince Gill and Pam Tillis were all born in 1957. Meanwhile, in a Kalamazoo, Michigan factory, one of the first Gibson guitars featuring a cutaway and built-in pickup was being manufactured. That guitar would become a prized possession of Woody Lynch, who would eventually pass it along to his son, a 19-year-old burgeoning country artist, Richard Lynch.

The Ovation Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Ovation TV, has recognized the work of five non-profit arts organizations with $125,000 in awards as part of its 2017 Creative Economy innOVATION Grant Awards Program. In its fourth grant cycle, the program focused on identifying model nonprofit arts organizations that cultivate and support artists and enterprises in the creative industries through capacity-building, accelerating partnerships, and/or fiscal support. Five grants of $25,000 each were awarded to the following nonprofit organizations:

On Saturday, January 9, 2016, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) kicked off its 35th anniversary with the organization's annual Backyard Ball performance and gala. Themed 'Celebrating 35 Years Through the Lens of the Future,' the evening honored director and actress Rosie Perez and director Robert Wilson with Arison Awards, and performer, Tony Award nominee, YoungArts Master Teacher and 1997 YoungArts Winner in Theater Tony Yazbeck with the Arison Alumni Award. On Saturday, January 14, 2012, at An Affair of the Arts Performance and Gala, YoungArts will honor actor Robert Redford with the Arison Award; visual artist Doug Aitken with the Alumni Award; and arts administrator Robert Lynch, President of the Americans for the Arts, with the YoungArts Leadership Award. The gala, held at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts and the J.W. Marriott Marquis Hotel, will bring together prominent artists, community leaders, philanthropists and celebrities to celebrate the 2012 national YoungArts winners.

National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) held its Annual Chairman's Awards Gala and benefit yesterday, Monday, April 19 at the St. Regis New York hotel. This year, NCTF Chairman James S. Turley, Chairman & CEO of Ernst & Young, honored Nathan Lane (currently starring on Broadway in The Addams Family), set designer Eugene Lee (Wicked) and Wells Fargo & Company. Accepting the award on behalf of Wells Fargo was Joe Kirk, Regional President for New York and Connecticut. All net proceeds of the event will be distributed as the NCTF/WELLS FARGO FUND FOR NEW AMERICAN THEATRE.
