BIO

Robert Franklin Neill is a founding ensemble member of the New York Neo-Futurists. He studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, the National Theater Institute, and Grinnell College. Performance credits include: Tour: Peter and The Starcatcher; Broadway: London Assurance; London: The Cherry Orchard; Regional: You Never Can Tell, Tartuffe, and The Real Thing; Off-Off Broadway: Spring Awakening, Hamlet, and Doughboy; Film & TV: The Blacklist, Accommodations and All My Children; Poetry: Various venues around the country and with Chicago Green Mill & Hollywood Slam teams. He has written, directed and performed Neo-Futurist plays in both New York and Chicago since 1995. His plays have appeared at the Ontological Hysterical, P.S. 122, HERE, BB Kings, Cherry Lane & The Kraine, as well as in Chicago and Los Angeles. In addition to two books of poetry, Rob’s plays are included in the most recent Neo-Futurist books.

Award-winning Retro Productions kicks off its 2019 season with one of the longest running Broadway comedies of the 1960's, Mary, Mary written by Jean Kerr. The witty revival runs May 3 - 18 at the Gene Frankel Theatre in SoHo. Shay Gines who previously directed Retro's revival of And Mrs. Reardon Drinks A Little, directs. Opening night is slated for Friday, May 3.

On this edition of 'In Focus', host Eden Lane spends time at the 'press day' for for the 1st National Tour of Peter and the Starcatcher, launching in Denver. Lane meets with Donyale Werle, who won the 2012 Tony Award for her Peter and the Starcatcher set design.
