Today’s subject Nora Palka is currently living her theatre life at Signature Theatre playing Jeanie in their current production of Hair. The production runs through July seventh in the MAX.
Hair is a homecoming for Nora to be sure. She grew up in the DC area and as you will read, credits Signature with her wanting to become a professional performer.
The Main Thing: Cabaret Series Kicks Off Friday, August 19 at Toby's Dinner Theatre

In response to the mounting needs of individuals and numerous organizations impacted by the Saturday, July 31st flood in Old Ellicott City, MD, Toby's Dinner Theatre will join with Glenelg Country School's Performing Arts Chair, Carole Graham Lehan, to present The Main Thing: Cabaret Series. The first two events will harken back to a time-honored "post-show" tradition in which talented actors provide a NY-style Broadway experience in late-night entertainment for one hour after the main show concludes. On selected dates, the evening's theatre-goers will be able to join walk-up guests for a cash-only cover charge of $10 per person. Proceeds and bar sales will go to EC Partnership relief fund.

NextStop Theatre Company's 2013-2014 season continues with the holiday repertory performances of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol and The 12 Dates of Christmas Performances begin on December 3rd and 4th, respectively, at the Industrial Strength Theatre in Herndon. Celebrated DC actor Ray Ficca (President, The National Academy of Dramatic Arts) will take on the role of Jacob Marley while DC actress Kari Ginsburg will star as Mary in The 12 Dates of Christmas.

Kander & Ebb's 'Happy Time' Opens 4/1 at Signature

The Signature Theatre continues its national Kander and Ebb Celebration with a new production of the Broadway greats' forgotten musical The Happy Time, performed in Signature's 110-seat ARK Theatre. The Happy Time is part of a four-month celebration of the works of John Kander and Fred Ebb, the longest song-writing partnership in the history of the American musical theater. The Happy Time plays Tuesday, April 1 through Sunday, June 1, in repertory with Kiss of the Spider Woman in The MAX Theatre (through April 20), then The Visit (May 13 - June 22).
