DRAG RACE Legends Willam, Cheryl Hole And River Medway Drop-In Ahead Of DEATH DROP: BACK IN THE HABIT At Theatre Royal Brighton
Cheryl Hole (RuPaul's Drag Race UK Season 1 and Drag Race Vs The World), River Medway (RuPaul's Drag Race UK Season 3) and Willam (RuPaul's Drag Race Season 4) braved the wet weather in town yesterday to take a tour of Brighton ahead of their new show Death Drop: Back In The Habit arriving next month at Theatre Royal Brighton.
Cheryl Hole (RuPaul's Drag Race UK Season 1 and Drag Race Vs The World), River Medway (RuPaul's Drag Race UK Season 3) and Willam (RuPaul's Drag Race Season 4) braved the wet weather in town yesterday to take a tour of Brighton ahead of their new show Death Drop: Back In The Habit arriving next month at Theatre Royal Brighton.

This is the second outing for the Death Drop team following on from the popularity of the first Death Drop play which toured in 2020. This time for Death Drop: Back in the Habit, directed by Jesse Jones, we meet new characters as the comedy horror mystery tale takes place in the convent of Saint Babs.

Hackensaw Boys to Release New EP in June
For the past twenty years, Hackensaw Boys have been a hard-touring force of nature in the American roots music world, bringing a punk ferocity to their stringband base and a powerful sensitivity to their ballad roots. Operating more as a collective than a band, Hackensaw Boys were around before the O Brother craze kickstarted Americana, back in the old alt-country days. With all this history, it shook up bandleader and lead singer David Sickmen when long-time band member Ferd Moyse let him know that he was leaving the band in 2018. Sickmen's a man who survived throat surgery to save his voice and endured any number of hardships over two decades on the road, but nothing hits harder than a crisis of faith for a man who's used his own indomitable will to push past every obstacle. “I realized as a 50-year-old man,” Sickmen says, “I'm too far gone to stop. I've waited too long to have another career. I did a lot of soul searching, trying to figure out what Hackensaw Boys even is at this point with all the people that have come and gone through it.” Sickmen realized Hackensaw Boys was more of an ethos, a mission statement to raise a little hell, encourage a more peaceful world, and bring the music back to its roots in a working-class American vernacular.

Created by Andy Manley, Andy Cannon and Shona Reppe, this re-telling blends storytelling, music and puppetry, offering fun and adventure for fans of the book, the UK's classic TV show and those brand new to the tale. Thirteen years into their NEW SUMMER SHORTS, the members of Theatre Artist Studio remain in top form, reaching into their collective pockets for story lines that play on our fancies and foibles. This year's collection of eight ten-minute plays rises to the level of the proverbial cherry on top of the sundae. It's dessert time for a Season that has feasted its audiences with some pretty fine productions. Running through June 24th.
