BIO

Rob Cookman has been touring the United States for the last 6 years as a musical director and keyboardist. He just finished Come Fly Away�s 1st National Tour where he lead a 13 piece big band that accompanied original Frank Sinatra recordings.


Rob is a member of the pop group, Knee Deep Shag. With Knee Deep Shag Rob has written, recorded, and made national TV appearances. Knee Deep Shag has won three Detroit Music Awards and one Chicago�s Independent Music Award.
Rob has been a soloist with the Dearborn Symphony (with grammy award winner Rhonda Larson), Mt Lebanon Percussion (Rhapsody in Blue), Western Michigan University Orchestra (Ravel�s Concerto in G), and the West Virginia University Orchestra (Gershwin�s Piano Concerto in F)

BWW Reviews: Tharp's COME FLY AWAY Makes Huge Leaps in L.A.

There is a good reason why Twyla Tharp is, well, Twyla Tharp. She's one of the world's most renown, ubiquitous choreographers, and her unmistakable stamp can be found leaping all throughout COME FLY AWAY, a superb new dance-centric musical stage show now playing its Los Angeles premiere at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a two-week engagement through November 6. Conceived, directed and, of course, choreographed by the Tony Award-winner, this new shortened touring version of the acclaimed Broadway production features not only the brilliance of Tharp's dance art but also the well-known songbook and the inimitable original vocals of Frank Sinatra.
