Director Matthew Herrick had his first stage experience as a seven-year-old soprano in the SCERA Boys Choir. He volunteered at the movie theater, was an administrative office assistant, and later appeared onstage as an actor at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre. His love for SCERA runs deep.
Arts And Culture Festival And August Street Fair Announced by Detroit Repertory Theatre
The Detroit Repertory Theatre, in partnership with neighbors Dream of Detroit, the HUDA Clinic, Muslim Center, and HUG Community Garden, is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Arts & Culture Festival and Street Fair at its home in the geographical center of Detroit on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 10 am to 8 pm. This free, all day, outdoor event is made possible by a grant from ART Ops, and Community HeART of Highland Park and is a celebration of the arts, neighborhood revitalization, healthy living, community, and the power of diversity acting in unity in Detroit.

The Daily Mail has reported that Sinead Cusack is set to star alongside Sir Ian McKellen an upcoming production of Shakespeare's King Lear. Cusack will portray Lear's loyal courtier Kent. The Mail describes her approach as playing the Earl as 'an Angela Merkel-esque, straight-talking woman.'

The Richmond Symphony to Participate in MUSIC ALIVE: NEW PARTNERSHIPS
Twelve orchestras and composers have been selected to receive Music Alive: New Partnerships grants of $7,500 each, the League of American Orchestras and New Music USA announced today. Matching composers and orchestras who have not previously worked together, the program will support a series of one-week residencies between 2014 and 2016, each culminating in the performance of an orchestral work from the composer's catalog. Orchestras with operating budgets of approximately $7 million and below were eligible to apply.

Landau will hit it big in the Big Apple, (no doubt singing "New York, New York") by performing an up-close, intimate late-night dinner show with his small jazz combo.
