2016 New York Innovative Theatre Award Winner for Outstanding Revival STREET THEATER Returns for a Limited Run
Doric Wilson's award-winning satire, STREET THEATER about the evening of the Stonewall riots, returns to the Eagle Bar for a limited run September 20 - October 4. The production is produced by TOSOS (The Other Side of Silence), New York City's Oldest LGBTQ Theatre and is the first play of their 2017-18 Season. TOSOS Artistic Director, Mark Finley directs. The production won the New York Innovative Theater Award in 2016 for Outstanding Revival.
BWW Review: FENCES Charges In at the Pollard Theatre
The Pollard Theatre Company continues their 30th Anniversary season with August Wilson's FENCES. The Pollard production opens on the heels of the Oscar-nominated film adaptation starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. Comparisons to the current movie are inevitable, but Pollard's production holds its own thanks to sound performances from the lead performers.
2016 Recipients Announced for New York Innovative Theatre Awards
On Monday, September 26, 2016, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 12 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2016 recipients at its annual awards ceremony, The IT Awards. Hosted by a crowd favorite, Jason Kravits and directed by award winning director and sound designer, DeLisa White the ceremony took place from 7pm to 10pm at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

Doric Wilson's The West Street Gang at the Eagle NYC
Wilson's play, originally produced at The Spike, was written three years before the Ramrod leather bar massacre in November 1980, in which a man armed with a machine gun shot eight people, killing two. It is a dark, comic look at the bar's patrons and their attempts to defend it from both physical attacks as well as political attempts to close it.

GLEE Creator Ryan Murphy Dishes on Vocal Adrenaline and GLEE's Summer Tour
GLEE co-creator Ryan Murphy talked details of the second half of the first season, and how GLEE is taking it slow - that is, they will not be making it to Nationals by the end of the first season. The first thirteen episodes were GLEE's road to sectionals, and the last nine episodes of the first season will focus on regionals and New Directions nemesis Vocal Adrenaline.
