Utah Opera presents Final 'Don Giovanni'-Inspired Craft Cocktail
Utah Opera and Salt Lake magazine partner for the 3rd annual Libretti & Libations, where art influences life - for at least a drink (or two). Talented mixologists from choice Salt Lake City and Park City restaurants curate artisanal cocktails inspired by the season's opera productions. Until May 21, 2017, eight participating restaurants will offer expertly-crafted libations inspired by Utah Opera's production of "Don Giovanni" as a way of infusing food and beverage with the experience of opera. Utah Opera Closes 2016-17 Season with Mozart's DON GIOVANNI
In May 2017, Utah Opera will present Mozart's “Don Giovanni,” a tale of love, seduction, and murder as seen through the stylized lens of a 1950s “film noir” cinematic approach. This production will be performed five times at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre on May 13, 15, 17, 19 at 7:30 PM and May 21 at 2 PM. Norfolk & Norwich Festival Announces 2016 Programming
Norfolk & Norwich Festival, one of the biggest arts festivals in the UK, has today announced further events for its 2016 Festival. With the full programme still to be announced, further highlights revealed today include a brand new production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest directed by Artistic Director of Norfolk & Norwich Festival William Galinsky at the Great Yarmouth Hippodrome - Britain's only surviving purpose circus building erected in 1903 and Wild Life, an extraordinary collaboration between CAMPO's Artistic Collaborator Pol Heyvaert and young singer-songwriters from across Norfolk. Wild Life developed organically from the lives of the performers, and focuses on the songs they have written and what science tells us about how teenagers' brains work. The Festival have also announced Fierce Light, the world premiere event and exhibition from 14-18 NOW bringing together poets of international standing with contemporary film makers and visual artists to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War, Chris Thorpe's acclaimed plays Confirmation and Am I Dead Yet? about political extremism and what happens when we die respectively, an evening of French song and poetry with the powerful and unconventional ensemble troupe, I Fagiolini, a one-night only performance by the sensational singer-songwriter and political activist Billy Bragg and the English indie band Tindersticks.

Norfolk & Norwich Festival, one of the biggest arts festivals in the UK, has today announced the first shows of its 2016 Festival. With more to be announced, highlights for 2016 so far include: a ground-breaking UK Premiere from contemporary circus cabaret troupe Race Horse Company; the World Premiere of a major new commission from one of the UK's foremost young composers - Kemal Yusuf; excerpts from electro-acoustic polymath Max Richter's intensive investigation in the power of the human brain - Sleep; Aurelien Bory's industrial robot's dance with acrobats Sans Objet; Twenty Feet From Stardom's Lisa Fischer's first ever solo UK concert; an epic staging of Mahler's Symphony of a Thousand by Norwich Philharmonic and a revival of Rona Munro's critically acclaimed The James Plays. The festival runs 13 - 29 May 2016 with full line up still to be announced.

Lyric Opera of Chicago presents Richard Wagner's majesticTannhauser conducted by Sir Andrew Davis in a new-to-Chicago production byTim Albery. It opens on Monday, February 9 with seven performances through Friday, March 6. Performance dates are Feb. 9, 14, 18, 26, Mar. 2, and 6 at 6pm; and Feb. 22 at 1pm. (Note earlier curtain times.) Tannhauser will be sung in German with projected English translations.

North Carolina Opera's General Director Eric Mitchko and Artistic Director & Principal Conductor Timothy Myers today have announced the details for the company's 2014-15 season. The announcement by Maestro Myers last evening at the company's annual season festive kickoff event at CAM Raleigh included live musical highlights and attracted a large group of patrons and community partners.
Opera Colorado Presents Mozart's DON GIOVANNI Beginning Tomorrow
Mozart's setting of literature's great ladies man, Don Juan, closes Opera Colorado's 2013 season at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. One of Mozart's most famous operas, Don Giovanni follows the exploits of the suave and promiscuous title character as he seduces and outwits all those he encounters before his past comes back to haunt him. This production of Don Giovanni, reset in 1950s Italy, features a complete cast making its Opera Colorado debut: Christopher Magiera as antihero Don Giovanni, Ellie Dehn as Donna Anna, Melody Moore as Donna Elvira, Matthew Treviño as Leporello, Maria Lindsey as Zerlina, Jonathan Boyd as Don Ottavio, Christian Bowers as Masetto, and Richard Wiegold as the Commendatore. Ari Pelto and Kevin Newbury will also be making their conducting and directorial debuts, respectively.
