Richard O’Donnell wrote the award-winning Off-Broadway musical comedy "One & One," and the Broadway musical "A Manhattan Showboat," for Radio city Music Hall. He was founder and Artistic Director of the New Age Vaudeville theatre company in Chicago which presented his cult-hits "An Evening with Elmore & Gwendolyn Putts - The Neighbors Next Door" and "The TV Dinner Hour" featuring improv guru Del Close. He was founder and Artistic Director of the New Variety cabaret which played, among other venues, at the 500-seat Chicago Improv Comedy Club for over 2 years. The "New Variety," was a fast-paced, ever-changing volley of acts that included award-winning jugglers, fire-eaters, comics, and sketch comedy groups including the all-girl Nude Coffee, the all-gay The Boys in the Bathroom, and the all-improv Upright Citizens Brigade. In the last two years his Gothic musicals "An Evening with The Kreep," "Kreepmas," and "Bite Me," have all been produced in succession by the Black Pearl Cabaret theatre. Currently, his Gothic musical “Kreepshow” is in an open-ended run at the haunted Manresa Castle, produced by the BPC in historic Port Townsend, Washington.
