Santa Barbara Symphony to Host Free Fall Youth Ensembles Concerts This Month
The Santa Barbara Symphony has announced its fall youth ensemble performances on October 29 and 30. Under the artistic vision of Music & Artistic Director Maestro Nir Kabaretti and administered by Vice President of Community Education and Enrichment, Dr. Nick Fuentes, the youth ensembles boast the largest enrollment in years, a strong parent volunteer group and new, accessible rehearsal and performance spaces.

Virgil Catherine Gallery will host an artist reception for their latest exhibition C/Overt Observations on March 19th from 5pm-8pm, spotlighting renowned art, fashion and celebrity photographer Udo Spreitzenbarth, who has captured VIP names including Tyra Banks, The Jonas Brothers, John Legend, Cindy Crawford and more.

UMS To Present World Premiere Of Immersive Theater Work On Robert Mapplethorpe
The University Musical Society of the University of Michigan presents the world premiere of a new theater piece on the work of controversial photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, Friday-Saturday, March 15-16 at the Power Center for the Performing Arts in Ann Arbor, MI. Composed by Bryce Dessner, with a libretto by Korde Arrington Tuttle that includes poetry by Essex Hemphill and Patti Smith, Mapplethorpe's longtime creative muse, Triptych (Eyes of One on Another) premieres 30 years after Mapplethorpe's untimely death from AIDS at the age of 42.

New York Philharmonic & The Harmony Program Collaborate With All Stars To Benefit Underserved NYC Students
The New York Philharmonic and Harmony Program - a nonprofit organization that provides free instruments and daily classical music instruction to children in economically challenged communities across New York City - are collaborating for the fourth year in the annual Harmony Program All Stars Initiative. Eighteen All Stars - New York City elementary, middle, and high school students from low-income neighborhoods - were selected by audition for a year-long mentorship with New York Philharmonic musicians.
