Sundance Institute Announces 2020 Directors & Screenwriters Lab Fellows
11 independent filmmakers developing 10 projects have been selected for the 2020 Sundance Institute Directors and Screenwriters Labs, reimagined and expressed digitally this year on Sundance Co//ab. These Labs are at the heart of the nonprofit Institute's long-standing support for artists, and will connect curated selections of Fellows with Creative Advisors and Industry mentors across multiple disciplines.
HBO Films to Debut Drama, O.G.
The HBO Films drama O.G. debuts SATURDAY, FEB. 23 (10:00-11:50 p.m. ET/PT). Starring Jeffrey Wright (Emmy® winner for HBO's “Angels in America,” two-time Emmy® nominee for HBO's “Westworld”), the film is directed by Madeleine Sackler (Emmy® winner for HBO's “Dangerous Acts Starring the Unstable Elements of Belarus”) and written by Stephen Belber (Emmy® nominee for HBO's “The Laramie Project”).

The Film Society of Lincoln Center Announces Complete Lineup for Free Daily Talk Series
The Film Society of Lincoln Center announces the lineup for the fifth edition of free talk series NYFF Live during the 54th New York Film Festival (September 30 – October 16). HBO® is the presenting sponsor of NYFF Live, which features actors, directors, writers, critics, and other industry insiders participating in daily evening discussions from October 1 – 14 in the Amphitheater at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center.
Casting Society of America to Investigate Pay-to-Play Workshops
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Casting Society of America has acknowledged the issue of potentially illegal workshops and will establish a committee to investigate this problem. In late March, The Hollywood Reporter launched an investigation into the problem of pay-to-play workshops, and the issue has since come into the public eye.
CSA to Honor Bernie Telsey, Danny Boyle and Michelle & Robert King with 2015 Artios Awards
The Casting Society of America (CSA) will honor the recipients of its three major annual special awards at the 31st Artios Awards gala on January 21, 2016. The recipients are director Danny Boyle (Steve Jobs, Slumdog Millionaire) for the Career Achievement Award, casting director Bernard Telsey (Into The Woods, 'Ricki and the Flash,' Wicked) with the Hoyt Bowers Award, and writer-producers Michelle and Robert King ('The Good Wife') with the New York Apple Award.
