Lantern Theater Company to Present 36 VIEWS
Lantern Theater Company closes its 2015/16 season with the Philadelphia premiere of 36 Views by award-winning playwright Naomi Iizuka. Directed by longtime Lantern artistic collaborator Peter DeLaurier and featuring scenic, sound, and projection design by Jorge Cousineau, 36 Views runs May 26 - June 26, 2016. Lantern Theater Company to Host 'Quirk of Quarks' Following QED this Month
Lantern Theater Company presents The Quirks of Quarks: Richard Feynman's Legacy following the performances of QED on Sunday November 23 and Sunday, November 30. The discussion, delving into Richard Feynman's greatest discoveries and his lasting impact on the world of science, will be led by prominent local physicists Paul Halpern (November 23) and Kenneth William Ford (November 30) joined by the QED cast members. Admittance to both events is free to QED ticketholders.

Lantern Theater Company continues its 21st season with a remount of QED by Peter Parnell in a limited engagement that runs November 20 - December 14, 2014. Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) announce recent recipients of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Initiative commissions for Manhattan Theatre Club. The commissioned writers are Jeff Augustin (Little Children Dream of God), Courtney Baron (A Very Common Procedure) and Juliana Nash (Murder Ballad), Nell Benjamin (The Explorers Club), Madeline George (The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence), Tom Holloway (And No More Shall We Part), Nathan Jackson (Broke-ology), Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (An Octoroon), Greg Pierce (Slowgirl), and Alexandra Wood (The Initiate).

Lantern Theater Company announces the addition of QED by Peter Parnell to its 2014/15 mainstage season, completing a line-up that also includes Tom Stoppard's theatrical masterpiece Arcadia, John Patrick Shanley's Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning Doubt: A Parable, William Shakespeare's classic comedy of the sexes The Taming of the Shrew, and Steven Canny and John Nicholson's inventive and brilliantly farcical adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Releases Fourth Recording
The Grammy Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has released its fourth recording on its record label, ASO Media. Distributed by Naxos of America, this all-Sibelius release features Music Director Robert Spano leading the Orchestra in Symphony No. 6 in D minor, Symphony No. 7 in C Major, and Tapiola. The digital release is available for download on iTunes today, November 5. The physical release may be preordered, and will be available beginning Tuesday, November 19.

Alan Alda Receives 2013 Common Wealth Award for Dramatic Arts
Four renowned achievers will be honored for their lifetime accomplishments with the 34th Annual Common Wealth Awards of Distinguished Service. The awards recognize individuals who have enriched modern society in a range of human endeavors. The 2013 Common Wealth Award winners are: Alan Alda, celebrated actor, director and screenwriter, for Dramatic Arts; David McCullough, preeminent author and historian, for Literature; Jane Pauley, leading broadcast journalist, Today Show contributor and author, for Mass Communications; Martin Sheen, film legend, social activist and humanitarian, for Public Service.
Atlanta Symphony Announces January Concerts
Music Director Robert Spano will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in the world premiere of The Nature of Light, a clarinet concerto by Atlanta School of Composers member Michael Gandolfi, which was written for Principal Clarinet Laura Ardan. The program will also include Rimsky-Korsakov'sScheherazade and the Atlanta Symphony premiere of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 5 with pianist Juho Pohjonen. Tickets are $23-$67.

William Hurt to Star in New Drama From BBC & Science
The BBC and SCIENCE are co-producing a new factual drama starring award-winning actor William Hurt ('Altered States', 'Kiss of the Spider Woman', 'Children of a Lesser God', 'History of Violence', 'Into the Wild', 'Too Big To Fail'). Hurt will play the brilliant U.S. physicist Richard Feynman, who was instrumental in uncovering the truth behind the space shuttle Challenger disaster of 1986.
