Belfast's Lyric Theatre to Bring BRENDAN AT THE CHELSEA Acorn Theatre in September
Northern Ireland's preeminent theatre company, Belfast's Lyric Theatre, presents the U.S. premiere of a new play by Janet Behan, "Brendan at the Chelsea," about the controversial playwright Brendan Behan, in the turbulent last weeks of his short life, when he lived in New York at the Chelsea Hotel. Portraying Behan is the noted actor Adrian Dunbar, who also directs the five-character drama. This is Dunbar's professional NY stage debut, and it is also the Lyric Theatre's debut production in New York.
Nicholas Lloyd Webber Talks Dad Andrew; Writing THE LITTLE PRINCE Musical
Nick Lloyd Webber, son of Andrew Lloyd Webber, will see his musical adaptation of THE LITTLE PRINCE run from December 1 through January 15 at the Lyric Belfast. Directed by Richard Croxford, the production is co-written by James D. Reid. On the upcoming opening, Lloyd Webber commented that he is: "Very nervous. In terms of the pressure, I'm very aware there's going to be some... attention, but I'd just like to think that the show will be judged on its own merits. That's all anyone can ask for."
