Mark Knopfler to Release New Album 'One Deep River' in April
The record will feature 12 new songs, highlighting Knopfler's warm Geordie vocals, his poetic storytelling and richly melodic guitar playing. The first single from the album, “Ahead Of The Game,” is out now, a wistful story about a singer/songwriter struggling to make it, set to a distinctively Knopfler riff.

As the 2nd annual “Heal The Music Day” wraps for 2018, more than 170 members of the music community – songwriters, musicians, performers, artist managers, publishers, business managers, record labels, trade organizations and more – pledged a percentage of their single-day revenues to support their fellow musicians and peers in the industry in times of medical crisis. With $300,000 raised in support of Music Health Alliance, every dollar donated equals $30 in life-saving healthcare resources. Music Health Alliance's free services range from access to doctors and hospitals, medicine, health insurance and finding financial assistance during times of illness.
Country Music Association Makes Matching Contribution to 'Heal the Music Day'
With just over a week until the 2nd annual “Heal The Music Day,” held Friday, October 19, 2018, the Country Music Association has teamed with Music Health Alliance to offer a matching contribution for donations raised within the music industry. CMA will match dollar for dollar donations in support of “Heal The Music Day,” up to $100,000. Every dollar donated equals $30 in life-saving healthcare resources to Heal The Music.

Mark Knopfler Signs with Universal Music Group
Universal Music Group announced a worldwide deal with legendary musician and songwriter Mark Knopfler. Knopfler's new record Privateering will debut on UMG's Verve Records September 10 after a 35 year relationship with Warner Brother Records. Max Hole, Chairman and CEO UMG International comments, 'Mark has long been one of the most innovative and successful artists in music and we're thrilled he's decided to sign to Verve so that we are now working with him everywhere across the world.' The new music is Knopfler's first double album of new music in his entire recording career. 'The older I get, the more I want to write,' Knopfler notes.
