The book sold within hours on opening day at the Winter Antique Show at the Park Avenue Armory.

Keep On Trockin'! LES BALLETS TROCKADERO DE MONTE CARLO Are Back At The McCallum
The McCallum Theatre presents Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo on Tuesday, January 29, at 8:00pm. Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo was founded in 1974 by a group of ballet enthusiasts for the purpose of presenting a playful, entertaining view of traditional, classical ballet in parody form and en travesti, Les Ballets Trockadero first performed in the late-late shows in Off-Off Broadway lofts. The Trocks, as they are affectionately known, quickly garnered a major critical essay by Arlene Croce in The New Yorker, which combined with reviews in The New York Timesand The Village Voice, established the company as an artistic and popular success. By mid-1975, the Trocks' loving knowledge of dance, comic approach, and commitment to the notion that men can, indeed, dance en pointe without falling flat on their faces, was already garnering attention beyond the company's New York home. Articles and notices in publications such asVariety, Oui, The London Daily Telegraph, as well as a Richard Avedon photo essay in Vogue, made the company nationally and internationally known.
Appaloosa Library Exhibits Photos Taken 'Under Stress'
The subject matter varies, but a common theme among the works found in the new exhibition "Harrison Hurwitz: Photographer, Working" is a theme of photos made under stressful conditions. The exhibition opens Jan. 8 at the Appaloosa Library, 7377 E. Silverstone Drive, Scottsdale, and runs through Feb. 28.
Lyric Opera Of KC Welcomes Jamie Bernstein, Today
General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced that Lyric Opera will co-sponsor a FREE special event with the Kansas City Public Library today, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Truman Forum at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library (4801 Main St., KCMO 64112) featuring Jamie Bernstein, eldest daughter of revered composer/conductor Leonard Bernstein. A writer, broadcaster, concert narrator, and filmmaker, Ms. Bernstein offers a rare look at her father on the centennial of his birth in her deeply intimate and evocative new book, FAMOUS FATHER GIRL: A Memoir of Growing Up Bernstein. The program will include some Leonard Bernstein songs, performed by members of Lyric Opera's Resident Artist and Young Artist programs, that underline the passion and the compassion of this great American composer. Afterward, Ms. Bernstein will sign copies of her book, which will be available for purchase at the event through Rainy Day Books. Ms. Bernstein's high res headshot is available upon request.
