Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to Perform in UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Today
(New York) – July 13, 2016 – Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, recognized by U.S. Congress as “a vital American cultural ambassador to the world,” returns to the United Kingdom, Lausanne, Switzerland, and Copenhagen, Denmark to perform a dozen ballets from September 6 – October 30. Robert Battle will lead Ailey through the UK (September 9 – October 19) for the first time since becoming Artistic Director, including the Company's inaugural visits to Southampton and Canterbury, England. Presented by Dance Consortium, the UK engagement will include 10 works performed across 10 cities. The Company will then head to the Salle Métropole in Lausanne (October 22 – 23) and The Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen (October 26 – 30). Bank of America is the lead sponsor of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 2016 and 2017 international tours.

The Public Theater will celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death in 2016 with free Shakespeare in the Park beginning in May, along with other affordable Bard programming at Astor Place and the Delacorte Theater, it was announced today. As part of Oskar Eustis' 10th Anniversary season, free Shakespeare in the Park this summer will feature an all-female version of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and featuring Olivier Award nominee Cush Jumbo as Katherina and Tony Award winner Janet McTeer as Petruchio, followed in July by TROILUS AND CRESSIDA, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan.

Old Vic Announces 2014-15 Season; Kevin Spacey to Return to the Stage in CLARENCE DARROW
The Old Vic today announced its programme for Summer/Autumn 2014. The CQS Space, The Old Vic in the round, will be home to the whole season of productions, continuing after Other Desert Cities which opens this month. The plays will be performed in the round, a transformation of The Old Vic's auditorium first seen for the award-winning 2008 production of The Norman Conquests. The season of productions is supported for the fourth consecutive year by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Metropolitan Opera's HD LIVE IN SCHOOLS Launches Sixth Season
The Met: HD Live in Schools, a national program that uses live transmissions of Metropolitan Opera performances to create cross-disciplinary educational experiences for students around the country, will reach children in a record 34 school districts in its sixth season. The program, which provides teachers and administrators with educational resources geared to select performances from The Met: Live in HD—the Met's award-winning series of live opera transmissions to movie theaters around the world—and arranges for students to attend the transmissions in their hometowns, is expected to reach approximately 15,000 students in 24 states during the 2013-14 season. The first HD Live in Schools transmission of the year, Verdi's Falstaff, is an operatic adaptation of Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor and will be transmitted live from the Met stage on December 14.

Anderman, Jones et al. Join Spacey in Bridge Project's RICHARD III; Plays NY Jan. 2012
The full company is announced for the final season of The Bridge Project featuring Kevin Spacey, artistic director of The Old Vic, in the title role of Richard III. The Bridge Project will open at The Old Vic in London on June 29, 2011 and then embark on an international tour including the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Spain's Centro Niemeyer, Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Singapore Repertory Theatre, arriving at BAM's Harvey Theater in New York in January 2012. Further international tour dates to be announced shortly.
