The Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUAF) announces the finalists for its 22nd season in Manhattan's Theatre District. Tony and Grammy nominee Reg E. Gaines returns as Artistic Director, selecting 24 finalists from over 300 submissions worldwide.
Downtown Urban Arts Festival Kicks Off Next Month
The DOWNTOWN URBAN ARTS FESTIVAL will present 16 plays (nine shorts and seven one-acts.) The festival kicks off on Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 when Savion Glover and Reg E. The Downtown Urban Arts Festival (Reg E. Gaines, artistic director; Creative Ammo Inc., producer) today announced its 19th year of new works for the stage by 16 playwrights at the Abron Arts Center (466 Grand Street, New York City) from Thursday, June 10 through Saturday, June 26, 2021. For the first time, theatre tickets will be free of charge.
Melissa Rose and Brandice Peltier Win Top Honors at DUAF 2020
Downtown Urban Arts Festival/DUAF has announced the top winners from its 18th season including Oregon-based Melissa Rose won Best Play for her play Baggage and Brandice Peltier (from New Jersey) won Best Short Play for Grocery Run. In the film category, Skin, directed by Guy Nattiv, won Best Short Film.
