Gladys Knight, Spike Lee & Stout Added To 2023 Apollo Spring Benefit Line-Up

The Apollo today announced new additions to its 2023 Spring Benefit. The 'Empress of Soul,' Gladys Knight joins the line-up as an esteemed musical guest. Academy Award winning director Spike Lee is also confirmed to present the Impact Award to six-time NBA champion and the league's only six-time MVP, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Apollo Music Café alumni and esteemed vocalist, Stout, is slated to appear as a musical guest with a special Tina Turner tribute. The historic organization's largest annual fundraising event returns Monday, June 12 with an evening themed “The Next Movement!”

The production will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. in Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium and is led by acclaimed producer, composer, and music director Ray Chew, and co-produced with his wife and business partner Vivian Scott Chew, a global music marketing executive.

More than 800 guests filled NJPAC's Prudential Hall on Saturday, October 1, as the Arts Center hosted its first in-person Women@NJPAC Spotlight Gala in three years. The annual fundraiser drew arts lovers, Newark advocates and NJPAC supporters together to celebrate the Arts Center's 25th anniversary season and to raise $2.2 million for NJPAC's extensive arts education and community engagement programs.
