In response to Covid to provide some money to NYC’s many out-of-work or underemployed string musicians, Manny Alvarez launched a “Kolstein Performance Showcase” in collaboration with the Essex House on Central Park South/7th. There is an ongoing schedule every Friday evening from 7-8 PM.
Guitarist Anthony Wilson Announces Cinematic New Album
His longtime main ensemble — Wilson on guitar and vocals accompanied by Blue Note recording artist Gerald Clayton on piano and keyboards, bassist David Piltchand Jay Bellerose on drums and percussion — helps bring the tales to life with these musical settings much as, say, Jonny Greenwood’s score does in Power of the Dog.
The Chamber Orchestra Of Philadelphia Presents The Second Concert Of The 2018/2019 Migrations Season
The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) explores the sound of the pipa alongside familiar European repertoire with works of Mozart and Dvo?ak. These works for strings by master composers are followed by a traditional Chinese tune arranged by COP's own Dirk Brosse. The Pipa is showcased alongside the Chamber Orchestra's sound in Lou Harrison's Concerto for Pipa with String Orchestra. Wu Man will also first introduce us to the instrument by playing a solo piece for the Pipa in the intimate setting of the Perelman Theater.

New York Wine Events is pleased to announce the New York City Winter Wine Festival presented by Citi featuring hundreds of wines from around the globe will return to Times Square at the PlayStation Theater (formerly The Best Buy Theater) on Saturday, March 10, 2018. General admission sessions for the 9th annual event will be held at 3:00-6:00pm and 8:00-11:00pm. A special Premium Early Access ticket offers guests the option of walking the extensive food and wine event one hour earlier, commencing at 2:00pm for the afternoon session and 7:00pm for the evening. During each tasting session, guests will enjoy live contemporary jazz performances by internationally acclaimed saxophonist Michael Lington and take home the custom wine tasting glass post-event.

Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Announces 2017-18 Season at the Kimmel Center
A founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) announces its 2017-2018 Season. From September 2017 through May 2018, the Chamber Orchestra will perform six programs as part of its subscription series. All six concert pairs will be performed in the Kimmel Center's intimate Perelman Theater.
