McKenna Subaru, a family-owned & operated car dealership in Huntington Beach, and Orange County School of the Art, a nationally recognized public-charter school in Santa Ana, have announced a new partnership to help support the school’s mission to provide unparalleled arts and academic education to a diverse student body passionate about the arts.

Abbe Levine Receives National Arts Schools Network Award
Abbe Levine, an alumna of Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA), has received the 2019 Outstanding Arts School Alumni Award from the Arts Schools Network (ASN), the nation's largest professional membership organization of specialized arts schools. Created to foster artistic and academic achievement in talented young people, this honor is bestowed annually upon one former student of an ASN school whose commitment to excellence is demonstrated through outstanding accomplishment in the areas of citizenship, arts and academics. The award will be presented at the annual ASN Conference, October 22-25, 2019, in Jacksonville, Fla.
Live High School Poetry Competition Presented By Orange County School Of The Arts
Orange County School of the Arts' (OCSA) Creative Writing Conservatory hosts its sixth annual Orange County Regional Youth Slam Event (OC RYSE), on April 13-14, bringing together aspiring young writers from across Southern California for a dynamic and engaging poetry competition. Student teams compete by performing a dramatic recitation of a classic poem. They also write and perform an original response poem that echoes elements from the classic work. OC RYSE is the only performance poetry competition of its kind in the county and features nearly 50 high school students.
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater To Be Artist-in-Residence At OCSA
Members of the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will provide Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) students and staff a once-in-a-lifetime training experience during a five-day artist-in-residence program at the school from March 11 through March 15. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is world renowned for its impactful choreography and performances, with repertoire highlighting important themes in American society.
Broadway Pro Jared Gertner Performs With OCSA Musical Theatre Students
Nearly 30 Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) Musical Theatre Conservatory students showcase a medley of music alongside Broadway actor Jared Gertner for the school's annual "Performing with the Pros" event on Friday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 2. Through song and story, his cabaret-style performance takes the audience on a journey through Gertner's life and career, highlighting his various audition experiences. This year's "Performing with the Pros" features Broadway hits, as well as a few surprises.
World-Renowned Master Artists Visit OCSA For 2018-2019 Season
Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) students are given the opportunity to study alongside esteemed industry leaders, guest artists and teachers as part of the school's third annual Master Artist Series. The innovative series began in celebration of OCSA's 30th anniversary two years ago and continues to bring high-caliber arts professionals to campus, where they collaborate with faculty to create exceptional learning experiences for students. This season's Master Artist Series kicks off with Broadway actor and recording artist David Burnham ("Wicked," "The Light in the Piazza") performing alongside some of OCSA's own musical theatre students during the school's Season Premiere. The series continues with visiting professionals from the worlds of acting, culinary arts, instrumental and vocal music, musical theater, writing and more.
