Porchlight Music Theatre is proud to announce Jim Corti as the recipient of the 2022 Guy Adkins Award for Excellence in the Advancement of Music Theatre. The award will be presented during this year’s annual Chicago Sings fundraising concert, Chicago Sings Stephen Sondheim, Monday, May 23, at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), 220 E. Chicago Ave. This year’s Chicago Sings concert offers two opportunities to experience Chicago’s music theatre and cabaret performers saluting Stephen Sondheim.

Aurora Fox Announces New Dates for the Remainder of Their 36th Season
After a surge in Colorado's Coronavirus cases shut down many local businesses and forced the Aurora Fox to go virtual with their hotly anticipated holiday production of Langston Hughes' 'Black Nativity' at the end of last year, Aurora Fox Executive Producer Helen R. Murray made the decision to reschedule the latter half of Season 36 season.

After months of speculation and a thrice-developed season line up, the Aurora Fox Arts Center is elated to announce a plan for a truncated season's worth of live theatre. Consisting entirely of shows that feature small casts of six or fewer actors, the Aurora Fox's 36th season will include Cameron Mackintosh's musical revue, a?oeTomfoolery;a?? Langston Hughes' holiday song-play, a?oeBlack Nativity;a?? a?oeThe Paviliona?? by Craig Wright; a?oeQueens Girl in the Worlda?? by Caleen Sinnette Jennings; and a contemporary reboot of a Lewis Carroll classic, a?oeWonderland: Alice's Rock & Roll Adventure,a?? by Rachel Rockwell and Michael Mahler.
Porchlight Music Theatre Begins 25th Season With CHICAGO SINGS
Porchlight Music Theatre is proud to announce the 14th Annual Chicago Sings concert: Chicago Sings 25 Years of Porchlight, Monday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m., at The Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave, directed by Christopher Pazdernik and Artistic Director Michael Weber with music direction by David Fiorello. Reception begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour and light appetizers. Performances, awards ceremony and paddle raising begins at 7 p.m. in the Edlis Neeson Theatre. Tickets are on sale for $125 at PorchlightMusicTheatre.org or by calling 773.777.9884. Tickets at the door will be $150. The event has reserved seating and supports Porchlight Music Theatre's educational and artistic programming.

Chicago Children's Theatre, Chicago's largest professional theater company devoted exclusively to children and young families, winner of the 2019 National TYA Artistic Innovation Award, has announced its 2019-2020 season: the Chicago debut of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, the holiday season return of The Beatrix Potter Holiday Tea Party, the new "mom & tot" show Wake Up, Brother Bear!, a new Red Kite, Brown Box production for children on the autism spectrum, and the Chicago premiere of Me...Jane: The Dreams & Adventures of a Young Jane Goodall.

As Porchlight Music Theatre is set to launch its 25th Anniversary Season as Chicago's center for music theatre, it celebrated 24 years and announced its 25th Anniversary co-chairs at the 2019 ICONS Gala Sunday, March 31 at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago, 160 E. Pearson. The 2019 ICONS GALA set a new attendance record with 300 guests in attendance and raised more funds that directly benefit Porchlight's artistic and educational programs than previous events. The elegant Gala Brunch, chaired by Tamara Sims, included performances from Chicago's leading talents celebrating the legendary career of Jerome Robbins, the presentation of The Luminary Award to Jean Klingenstein, introduced the 25th Anniversary chairs: RIck and Deann Bayless and Bill Kurtis and Donna La Pietra and silent and live auctions.
