Young People's Theatre will present Green Thumb Theatre's The Code - an impactful production about the effects of social media on personal relationships. Written by award-winning playwright Rachel Aberle, and recommended for ages 13 & up, The Code will be presented in the Studio November 27 to December 14, 2018.
Winners Announced for The Jessie Awards
Returning to its theatrical roots this year, the 36th annual Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards were held on Monday, July 16th at Bard on the Beach in the BMO Mainstage in Vanier Park, a fitting venue in a magnificent setting. The awards celebrate excellence in professional theatre and salutes all the talent who contribute to Vancouver's fantastic theatre scene. Thirty-five companies registered over 57 productions this past year contributing to a dynamic theatre season.
Young People's Theatre Announces Eye-Poppin' New Season
Artistic Director Allen MacInnis and Executive Director Nancy J. Webster are delighted to reveal the 2018/19 playbill at Young People's Theatre (YPT). The new season will feature eight outstanding shows on two stages, including two world premieres, a Broadway musical and a timely adaptation of a Greek classic. This year YPT is exploring the notion of kids fixing things for themselves, and ultimately making change in their world.
Young People's Theatre to Present STILL/FALLING
Young People's Theatre (YPT) presents the Green Thumb Theatre production of Still/Falling, a brand new work by Rachel Aberle. Rachel brings her distinctive brand of wit and emotional range to this story of a teenager who appears to have it all -- but is falling apart inside. This moving play speaks to every teen whose depression and anxiety has been brushed off as 'rebellion' or 'teen angst'. Still/Falling will be presented in The Studio from November 22 to December 9.
