2023 Marks 40 Years of Dream in High Park
This summer, Canadian Stage celebrates 40 magical years of Dream in High Park by bringing back one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. The first play ever presented in the High Park amphitheatre in 1983, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM has long been associated with the time-held tradition of Shakespeare under the stars.
Tafelmusik to Present Tribute to Jeanne Lamon
Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir will present a special live tribute concert honouring Music Director Emerita Jeanne Lamon, C.M. O.Ont., who passed away in June. This deeply personal musical homage is curated by her partner and former Tafelmusik principal cellist Christina Mahler, together with friend and colleague Alison Mackay.
BWW Review: THIS WAS THE WORLD at Tarragon Theatre
In the opening scene of THIS WAS THE WORLD, on now at Tarragon Theatre, a law professor (R.H. Thomson) meets with his supervisor (Kim Nelson) to discuss a problematic statement he made in class. a?oeI apologised immediatelya??, he insists, but the fact that he's reclining with his feet up on his briefcase suggests he is anything but apologetic. His supervisor (we later learn she is the associate dean) also informs him that the department has gone ahead with the hiring of a new law professor, an Indigenous woman, despite his complaints that she is unintelligent and unimaginative. It's important, the dean argues, Canada's legal system include more Indigenous perspectives.

Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, the Grand Theatre will honour the sacrifices of our soldiers past and present with the Governor General Award-winning story, TIMOTHY FINDLEY'S THE WARS based on the book of the same name by one of Canada's most distinguished authors. Adapted and directed by Grand Theatre Artistic Director, Dennis Garnhum, TIMOTHY FINDLEY'S THE WARS launches the 18/19 season on the Spriet Stage, running from October 23 to November 11, Remembrance Day. ANNE WITH AN E Will Return to Green Gables for Second Season July 6 on Netflix
Netflix, the world's leading Internet entertainment service, announced today that the universally acclaimed series Anne with an E returns for a second season on July 6th. The expanded ten episode season from Miranda de Pencier's Northwood Entertainment launches exclusively on Netflix everywhere, excluding Canada (where it debuts this Sept. 23 on CBC). All episodes will be available all at once to members around the world, outside of Canada.
