BIO
Lee has designed lighting for live performance for over thirty years. As a long-time associate of New York City-based Transport Group, he has designed twenty-three of their off-Broadway productions, receiving Drama Desk Award nominations for his work on See Rock City & Other Destinations, Bury the Dead, and The Audience; and Henry Hewes Design Award nominations for Summer and Smoke, I Remember Mama, and Queen of the Mist. Lee also designed the off-Broadway premiere of Terrence McNally’s And Away We Go for The Pearl, the world premiere musical Benny & Joon for The Old Globe, and The Light in the Piazza for The Philadelphia Theatre Company for which he received a Barrymore Award. Other work includes designs for Paper Mill Playhouse, Signature Theatre, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Virginia Theatre Festival, and Operfestival di Roma. Lee is Professor of Lighting Design at the University of Virginia.

The Trial of the Catonsville Nine runs Wednesday, January 16 through Sunday, February 23, 2019 at the Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street. The opening night is scheduled for Wednesday, February 6 at 7:30pm.

The cast of SUMMER AND SMOKE features Glenna Brucken (Rosemary), Phillip Clark (Dr. Buchanan), Nathan Darrow (John Buchanan), Hannah Elless (Nellie Ewell), Elena Hurst (Rosa Gonzales), Marin Ireland (Alma Winemiller), Tina Johnson (Mrs. Bassett), Gerardo Rodriguez(Papa Gonzales), T. Ryder Smith (Reverend Winemiller), Ryan Spahn (Archie Kramer), Jonathan Spivey (Roger Doremus), and Barbara Walsh (Mrs. Winemiller).
