Daniil Trifonov To Make First Appearance as Artist-in-Residence with NY Phil
Daniil Trifonov will make his first appearance as the New York Philharmonic's 2019–20 season Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence, performing Scriabin's Piano Concerto led by Music Director Jaap van Zweden. The program will also include Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 and will take place Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 29 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, November 30 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m.
NY Philharmonic Matthias Pintscher With Violinist Renaud Capuçon
Matthias Pintscher will make his New York Philharmonic subscription debut conducting the New York Premiere of his mar'eh, with Renaud Capucon as soloist; Ravel's Alborada del gracioso; and Stravinsky's The Firebird (complete). The concerts will take place Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, February 22 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, February 23 at 8:00 p.m.

The 34th season of the New York Philharmonic Ensembles series - chamber concerts showcasing Musicians from the Orchestra performing classical masterpieces and modern compositions in an intimate setting - will begin on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Merkin Concert Hall.
The New York Philharmonic Very Young People's Concerts Concludes 12th Season, 4/30
The New York Philharmonic Very Young People's Concerts (VYPCs), for children ages 3 to 6, will conclude its 12th season Sunday, April 30, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and Monday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Merkin Concert Hall, 129 West 67th Street. The program, titled “Woodwinds,” is the final of three installments in Philharmonic Families, the season's theme that presents an overview of the entire orchestra. The “Woodwinds” program will feature Philharmonic musicians performing selections from Rossini's La gazza ladra Overture and Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin as well as “This Violist Went Wandering,” set to the tune of “Once an Austrian Went Yodeling.” Hosted again by Philharmonic Associate Principal Viola Rebecca Young, the program will feature Philharmonic flutist Yoobin Son, Associate Principal Oboe Sherry Sylar, Acting Associate Principal Clarinet Pascual Martínez Forteza, guest bassoonist Harrison Miller, and horn player R. Allen Spanjer. Production designer Doug Fitch — with whom the Philharmonic has collaborated on several acclaimed staged productions, and who began his involvements in Philharmonic VYPCs in January 2017 — created artwork for the concert, which also features Philippe the Penguin, a character created for the series.
New York Philharmonic And Interlochen Academy Launch Partnership
The Interlochen Arts Academy and New York Philharmonic are pleased to announce a partnership that will launch in January. Four New York Philharmonic musicians, all Interlochen alumni, will travel to the school's Michigan campus for two intensive weeks of educational activities, and select students will travel to New York to attend a Philharmonic rehearsal and concert, and give a chamber concert at Lincoln Center's Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse (January 28, 2017).

Jaap van Zweden will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23, with Artist-in-Association Inon Barnatan as soloist; Britten's Sinfonia da Requiem; and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. The performances take place Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, October 31 at 8:00 p.m.
