City College Center For The Arts Hits Sweet Note With 'a Soulful Music Celebration'
A joyful lesson in Black musical history will take place at Aaron Davis Hall on Saturday, April 7, as acclaimed performers Marvin Lowe and Queen Esther Marrow lead a cast of singers in exploration of the diversity and brilliance of Black American music through the decades at "A Soulful Music Celebration." Presented by City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) in partnership with Marvin Lowe & Friends, the 3 p.m. concert will feature an ensemble of artists and singers taking audiences on a fantastic journey of music, culture and heritage.
'BROTHER, CAN YOU SPARE A DIME?' Begins Triad Run 3/6
Told through 24 songs and actual first-hand accounts, the new musical revue----Brother, Can You Spare A Dime? Songs and Stories from The Great Depression will open Sunday, March 8th (3PM) at Off-Broadway's Triad Theatre (158 West 72nd Street ~ between Broadway & Columbus Avenue). Conceived and staged by Bill Daugherty, this musical time capsule is produced by Thoroughbred Records and Max Weintraub. Preview performances begin March 6th (7PM) & March 7th (3PM) This engagement will run through June 14th.
