Opera Parallèle announced baritone singer Robert Wesley Mason will now sing the role of Jack Torrance and bass-baritone Kevin Deas will sing the role of Dick Hallorann in the company's upcoming West Coast premiere of The Shining, the critically acclaimed opera by Grammy Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning team of composer Paul Moravec and librettist Mark Campbell. Opera Parallèle welcomes both acclaimed singers in their company debut.

The Annual General Meeting was held today at 6:30 pm at The Walter Carsen Centre for The National Ballet of Canada in Toronto.
THE CIRCLE SERIES Announces October Lineup, Including First Musical Reading

Over the past eight weeks, The Circle Series has brought the theatre community together on Monday evenings to explore developing works and celebrate the classics in a new way. Concluding their first slate of staged readings, producers Circle in the Square Theatre School (Paul Libin, President; Susan Frankel, COO), Pigasus Institute, and Rachel Shuey will present three readings of developing works in October that each explore an historical figure in their own way. The readings are held at Broadway's Circle in the Square and are open to the public. Admission is a suggested donation of $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, with all proceeds benefiting Circle in the Square Theatre School.

Performances will be on Friday, November 8 at 8pm, Saturday, November 9 at 8pm, Sunday, November 10 at 3pm, Tuesday, November 12 at 8pm, Wednesday, November 13 at 8pm, Thursday, November 14 at 8pm, Friday, November 15 at 8pm, Saturday, November 16 at 2pm, and Saturday, November 16 at 8pm. Kensek formally assumed her position on Monday, August 12, 2019. She will work with theatre leadership to champion the company's artistic vision, while also overseeing much of the organization's critical production and operational tasks.

Casting has been confirmed for Park Theatre's World Premiere dark drama, The Weatherman. Written by Eugene O'Hare, the production will star Mark Hadfield, Niamh James, Alec Newman, Cyril Nri and David Schaal. Examining the no go lines people will cross when it's too dangerous to run away, the play, directed by Alice Hamilton, will have a national press night on Wednesday 21 August, 7pm.
