Moving Arts has revealed the members of the MADLab 2025 cohort. MADLab playwrights have also gone on to write for television shows such as Watchmen, Man in the High Castle, Vida, and Lawman Bass Reeves, among others.

The 4th annual Imagine This Women's International Film Festival (ITWIFF), unveiled its 2019 official lineup. This year's festival includes a happy hour, screenings, screenplay competition, networking parties, and a Seed & Spark Pitch workshop. ITWIFF will take place from November 7-10th, 2019, at Firelight Studios, Alamo Drafthouse, and UnionDocs in Brooklyn, NY.

Midsommer Flight will expand programming in its 2018 season to include a free TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA in the parks this summer, special staged reading of RICHARD III in spring and the holiday perennial TWELFTH NIGHT. Midsommer Flight, the professional not-for-profit theatre company that has been bringing free Shakespeare to Chicago parks since 2012, will expand its programming from two to three productions for its 2018 season. Founding Artistic Director Beth Wolf made the announcement today.

Haven Theatre will present its third DIRECTORS HAVEN, the company's ever-growing initiative showcasing the talents of three early career directors. This season, Kristen Johnson directs Vaclav Havel's riveting political satire THE PROTEST, Ian Martin helms Amiri Baraka's THE TOILET, a powerful look at love and empathy, and Lexi Saunders directs Rachel Dubose's sharply funny and biting new play THE DEPARTURE. The three fully-produced productions will run back-to-back in one program. DIRECTOR'S HAVEN 2017 will play October 16 November 1, 2017 at Haven Theatre's resident home, The Den Theatre (2A), 1333 N. The Chicago Theatre Marathon is a weekend-long, new work marathon event celebrating the diversity of Chicagoland theatre artists. The Marathon, subtitled "I Am Indomitable," will acknowledge the variety of identity characteristics and categories that make individuals unique, including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender or gender expression, socio-economic status, age, physical, mental and learning abilities, religious beliefs and political views.
