The ever-adventurous Miller Theatre presents a full season of in-person programming for the first time since before the pandemic. Executive Director Melissa Smey, lauded for the integrity of her curating, has produced an invigorating season featuring four classic Miller series: Composer Portraits, Early Music, Bach, and Jazz.

GRAMMY-nominated vocal quartet New York Polyphony today announced the release of And the sun darkened, a new album out Friday, March 5, 2021 on BIS Records (BIS-2277 SACD). The album marks a return to form for the ensemble - a 58-minute program of new and ancient works organized around texts appropriate for Passiontide.
Hungarian State Opera Orchestra Announces 2019/2020 Concert Season

The Hungarian State Opera Orchestra is the oldest theatre orchestra in Hungary. Due to the vast selection of performances offered by the Opera, it is the most employed Hungarian symphony orchestra. Its roots reach back as far as 1838, when Ferenc Erkel, the father of the Hungarian national opera as a genre organised an opera orchestra for the Hungarian Theatre of Pest. The orchestra moved into their present home, the Opera House after its inauguration in 1884 and was presided over by notable principal music directors including Gustav Mahler. 
Announcing Lincoln Center's White Light Festival 2017

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced Lincoln Center's 2017 White Light Festival, which runs from October 18 through November 15. With more than 35 events presented in 13 venues throughout the city, including U.S. and New York premieres and nine commissions, the eighth annual international festival will explore transcendence, interior illumination, and faith in the human spirit, as exhibited through artistic expression across continents and centuries. The multidisciplinary festival takes its name from a quotation by Estonian composer Arvo Part: "Icouldcomparemymusic to white light, which contains all colors. Only a prism can divide the colors and make them appear; this prism could be the spirit of the listener."

PIERRE DE LA ROCHE , the acclaimed French performer, made his American concert debut with his show "Salut Charles!" - honoring the iconic entertainer Charles Aznavour- at Don't Tell Mama in three very special shows January 9, 10 and 11 in 2014. According to Radio France International, De La Roche is "an artist who stirs the emotions of the audience and has mastered the repertoire he tackles in 'Salut Charles!'" After the program's debut in the former silent movie theater in Berlin Delphi, the show has toured extensively in Germany and France. The evening features songs performed in French, English and German, including the hits Aznavour wrote like "Yesterday, When I Was Young." "You've Let Yourself Go" and "What Makes A Man a Man," in addition to classics he performs such as "La Mer (Beyond the Sea)" "Padam" and Lili Marleen." Mark Hartman serves as Music Director.

From France's Diabolus in Musica and Antoine Guerber comes this fascinating new release featuring the emotional and rarely-heard music by the contemporaries (or near contemporaries) of the Master of Tours, Johannes Ockeghem. The composer's death at a ripe old age in 1497 greatly affected the brilliant generation that was in the process of making the transition between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, leading to the creation of some deeply moving music. The new recording from the Aeon label is now available from Allegro Classical.
