After 10 days and 121 feature films, the 2019 Sundance Film Festival's Awards Ceremony took place tonight, with host Marianna Palka emceeing and jurors presenting 28 prizes for feature filmmaking. Honorees, named in total below, represent new achievements in global independent storytelling. Bold, intimate, and humanizing stories prevailed across categories, with Grand Jury Prizes awarded to Clemency (U.S. Dramatic), One Child Nation (U.S. Documentary), Honeyland (World Cinema Documentary) and The Souvenir (World Cinema Dramatic).

Sundance Film Festival Announces Juries, Awards Night Host

Sundance Institute will gather 20 celebrated and revered expert voices across film, art, culture and science to award feature-length and short films shown at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival with 12 prizes, announced at a ceremony February 2 that will be livestreamed at sundance.org and on YouTube. Short Film Awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 29 and will also be livestreamed. The Festival takes place January 24 through February 3 in Park City, Salt Lake City and Sundance, Utah.

Paramount Television and Anonymous Content have optioned the rights to 9 year-old reporter Hilde Lysiak's forthcoming book series “Hilde Cracks the Case” (Scholastic, Fall 2017). Inspired by true news stories that Hilde Lysiak has broken throughout her aspiring career as a journalist, the mystery series stars Hilde along with her older sister Izzy, her sidekick/newspaper photographer, as the two girls stop at nothing to uncover the truth. The deal also includes Lysiak's life story rights.
Broadway's Debbie Bisno Named Resident Producer of McCarter Theatre

McCarter Theatre Center's Resident Playwright/Artistic Director Emily Mann and Managing Director Timothy J. Shields have announced Debbie Bisno as the theatre's new Resident Producer. Ms. Bisno, a Broadway producer with two decades in the commercial and non-profit theatrical arenas, assumes her new leadership role immediately. Ms. Bisno will be based in Princeton as an important member of the artistic team at McCarter, and she will maintain and expand McCarter's relationships in NY, regionally, and abroad. Her existing company, Bisno Productions, will continue operations in Manhattan.
