STAGE TUBE: A Look Inside Wildhorn's WONDERLAND at the Alley
Wonderland, the new musical adventure by Frank Wildhorn (The Civil War and Jekyll & Hyde), with lyrics by Jack Murphy and a book by Phoebe Hwang, is currently playing at Houston's Ally Theatre through February 14. Alley Theatre presents the world premiere of the new musical Wonderland about Alice, a children's book writer in Manhattan who is suffering through a creative block, estranged from her husband and alienated from her daughter. It takes a trip to a strange-yet-familiar Wonderland for her to regain her life's balance and again find the love and everyday magic that reside in us all - if we know how to look. With a book by Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy (The Civil War), lyrics by Jack Murphy, music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlett Pimpernel, The Civil War), and directed by Gregory Boyd, Wonderland begins previews Friday, January 15, opens officially Wednesday, January 20 and runs through Sunday, February 14.
Wildhorn's WONDERLAND Opens at Houston's Alley Theatre, 1/9
Tampabay.com reports the news that IN THE HEIGHTS star Janet Dacal will play the leading role of Alice in the upcoming Wonderland, the Frank Wildhorn musical which is inspired by Alice in Wonderland and is slated to premiere at Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in December. Other casting for the musical includes Karen Mason, Nikki Snelson and Eugene Fleming.

Lew, Montalban, and Cudia Lead Reading Of Wildhorn's New Musical TEARS OF HEAVEN
TEARS OF HEAVEN, the first original American commission for South Korea, will have its industry reading on Friday, September 11th. This original musical is produced by Creative Production and Seol & Company, and will debut in Seoul in 2010, with an original book by Phoebe Hwang, lyrics by Robin Lerner (An Officer & Gentleman, Grammy-nominated songwriter and CMA winner), music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War, and the upcoming Bonnie & Clyde, Havana, and Wonderland), and directed by Gabriel Barre (Andrew Lippa's Wild Party, Camille Claudel, and Wildhorn's international Carmen in Prague), with musical direction by Adrian Werum (Steinman's Dance of the Vampires and Wildhorn's Carmen). Chris Choi (Broadway Overseas Management) is the general manager.
Wildhorn's WONDERLAND to Premiere at Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center Fall 2009
As the first initiative of the Broadway Genesis Project at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, TBPAC will produce a new Frank Wildhorn musical, to debut in Tampa late this year. The new show, WONDERLAND: Alice's New Musical Adventure will begin performances on November 24, 2009 at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.
