Loghaven Artist Residency Announces First Residency Awardees

Loghaven Artist Residency, a residency for emerging and established artists in the fields of visual art, dance, music, writing, theater, and interdisciplinary work, announced its first residency awardees from the inaugural Open Call for Applications.
JACK Presents Lea Bertucci at Riis Beach and the DUMBO Archway

Brooklyn performance and civic space JACK announces concerts in unusual spaces by acclaimed experimental composer and musician Lea Bertucci. The first, on July 31, involves an afternoon of concerts on the handball courts at Riis Park Beach. The second, on August 14, is a performance in the DUMBO Archway underneath the Manhattan Bridge.
Ted Hearne's 'Place,' Out April 3 On New Amsterdam

On Friday, April 3, New Amsterdam Records will release composer Ted Hearne's Place, a 72-minute work created in collaboration with renowned poet Saul Williams as 'a fiery meditation on gentrification and displacement,' in Williams' words.

Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival Closes With Boston Ballet & Urban Bush Women, August 21-25

Boston Ballet returns to Jacob's Pillow for the first time in over a decade, performing in the Ted Shawn Theatre, August 21-25. Under the artistic directorship of Mikko Nissinen since 2001, Boston Ballet is recognized worldwide for repertoire that is a?oeone of the most eclectic in the countrya?? (The New York Times). Boston Ballet's program includes excerpts of William Forsythe's critically acclaimed Playlist (EP), which pairs Forsythe's daring choreography to a soundtrack pulled straight from today's top charts; as well as Pas de Quatre and Rodin by Russian classical choreographer Leonid Yakobson; and resident choreographer Jorma Elo's Bach Cello Suites.
