BWW Review: Gabrielle Lamb Presents her Choreography
On November 18, 2016, at the Baruch Arts Center's Mason Hall, Gabrielle Lamb presented two of her numerous works, via two dance groups, The Joffrey Ensemble and her own company, Pigeonwing Dance. Lamb is a New York based choreographer who was a long time soloist with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal and in 2009 was invited by Christopher Wheeldon to join his company Morphoses in New York City. Her choreography is contemporary with a flair offered by her own personality and point of view.
New Biography of Merritt Miller, 13 MINUTES TO LIVE, is Released
This is the biography of Merritt Miller, who bootlegged moonshine and had four wives and twenty-six recorded children. Author Louise Miller Hale's father's life and times were spent as a type of independent businessman unique to the American experience during the Prohibition. In 13 Minutes to Live, Louise Hale puts an understanding eye to a still existing way of life in rural America, where people often make do on semi-arable hillsides and many a village respect their making a living by operating unlicensed whiskey stills at night. She tells a story about crime, punishment and justice that is the stuff of regional legend-her father, to her, was always a larger than life figure and it is very well projected in this compelling biography.

IDOL WATCH: The Top 9 Perform Songs From Their Idols!
Thankfully, Idol chose not to go with a specific artist's songbook this week - one can only take so much of a weird sort of karaoke night where the jukebox is stuck on one artist - and instead had the contestants perform songs from their own idols (solo and as part of three trios), resulting in some variety at long last. Find out more below, and don't forget to check out photos from this episode on page two!
