Petrina Johnson

Petrina’s extensive career has covered many aspects of the Entertainment Industry from Musical Theatre, Cabaret and Recording work to TV and Radio. She started taking singing lessons and made her stage debut at the age of five! She went on to train at the prestigious ‘Art Educational Schools’, London, on their 3 year Musical theatre course, and was a regular pupil of the highly renowned Ian Adam in London.

In Musical Theatre, she was in the original cast of Barry Manilow’s ‘Copacabana’, understudy to Lola, and playing the role of Conchita, at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London. She worked with Petula Clark, and Rita Moreno, in the final production of ‘Sunset Boulevard’ at the Adelphi Theatre, London, where she covered and played Betty Schaefer.

She played Patsy Cline on tour in ‘Always Patsy Cline’, & appeared in the Edinburgh Festival, in a four hander comedy musical play called ‘The Condos’. In the new musical ‘Moses’ she created the role of Jochebed. She toured as featured vocalist alongside Gary Wilmot in ‘Music to Watch Girls By’, played Annabel Glick in a workshop production of ‘Lucky Stiff’, and played the leading role of Em in a national tour of ‘The Butterfly Children’.

Petrina JohnsonOn a European tour of a Lloyd Webber Gala, she played the roles of Eva Peron (Evita!), Mary Magdalen (Jesus Christ Superstar), The Narrator (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat), Grizzabella (Cats) and Norma Desmond (Sunset Boulevard). She also played the female lead of Debs in ‘Boogie Nights’ at the Blackpool Grand, starring alongside Jimmy Osmond.

Having performed her own cabaret act since the age of 13, she is a seasoned performer. She has gained recognition in the UK and internationally, performing her one woman show at; The Talk of London, Drury Lane (headlining there for two years in their spectacular floor show), Lakeside Country Club, The Grosvenor House Hotel, The Sheraton Skyline Hotel, & Caeser’s Palace, Jersey.

Petrina JohnsonShe has been performing on board cruise liners since the age of 19, performing her own cabaret show. She more recently has been performing her one woman show as Headline Entertainer appearing on lines including; Crystal Cruises, Seabourn, Cunard, Holland America Line, Carnival, P&O, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean Line.

Petrina has performed as Principal girl in Pantomimes; Snow White (Lewisham Theatre), Jack and the Beanstalk (Civic Centre, St.Albans & The Hawth Theatre, Crawley), and Aladdin (Rhyl Pavilion Theatre).

Petrina JohnsonHer recording work includes two albums for Polygram; ‘Kyrie’ and ‘Celtic Dreams II’. She was a member of the group Celtic Spirit and performed on the Portuguese National Lottery. Her latest album My Home, which is getting rave reviews, is available on iTunes.

Television appearances include the BBC TV series ‘Showstoppers’ with Gary Wilmot, in which she was a featured vocalist, ‘The Lawrence Olivier Awards’(filmed at the London Palladium), ‘Better Late’, ‘South Today’ and ‘Children In Need’.

About PetrinaOn radio she performed a solo number from ‘The Condos’, live at the Edinburgh Festival on the ‘Russ and Jono Breakfast Show’ for Capital Radio. She has been creating production shows for corporate clients for many years, where she has written the shows, as well as performing in them. In this capacity she has worked alongside people such as Rosemary Ford and Graham Bickley, and many other West End performers. These events, taking place at various West End hotels, including Grosvenor House and the Waldorf Hotel.

More recently Petrina embarked on a TV presenting role for Gemporia (Gems TV) and was a popular and successful presenter for them on their USA channel. She was also a popular and comical contestant on Channel 4's "Come Dine With Me' and had the best week on that show!



Given Petrina’s extensive experience across all segments of the entertainment business, she is currently expanding on mentoring and tutoring roles. She is available for vocal coaching in Lingfield,Surrey. Petrina has recently had her first book published; 'Seduced By Song' explaining in detail the stages of how to become a singer. This book covers every aspect of vocal technique from your physicality to your breathing, to finding your voice and performing a song, and this book accompanies her 10 session course that is now available!
