Sundance Film Festival Announces 2019 'New Frontier' Lineup

Sundance Institute spotlights work at the dynamic crossroads of film, art and technology with the New Frontier selections for the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, announced today. This curated collection of cutting-edge independent and experimental media works are by creators who are pushing artistic innovation across new mediums that include VR, AR, mixed reality (MR) and AI. Programmers assembled a global slate of work from a mix of invitations and submissions to an open call for VR work earlier this year.

The sixth annual J! International Symposium was held in Stockholm last weekend. The event was sold out at the 500 seat Stora Salongen Theater at The Berns Hotel. Lane (Broadway Producer & Author), Tony Michels (UWisconsin), Letty Cottin Pogrebin (Ms Magazine), Annie Polland (American Jewish History Association), Ricki Neuman (Swedish Daily News), Jody Rosen (New York Times), Rabbi Peter Rubinstein (92nd Street Y), Hilan Warshaw (Documentarian) & Bjorn Wiman (Swedish Daily News) with a special appearance by Johan Rabaeus (Swedish Royal Dramatic Theatre), and a musical performance by Freudenthal Yiddish Orchestra.

In 2016, 92Y's Bronfman Center for Jewish Life commissioned A New Year, a song of hope and peace from songwriter Michael Ochs, as part of its #NewYearPrayer initiative. The song and accompanying video went viral, viewed by over 6 million people and shared by over 137,000 users.

Collegiate Chorale's Spring 2015 Benefit Raises More Than $300,000

The Collegiate Chorale raised more than $300,000 at its annual Spring Benefit featuring the U.S. premiere of Kurt Weill and Franz Werfel's The Road of Promise at Carnegie Hall on May 7, 2015. Proceeds will go toward The Chorale's artistic and education initiatives.
