BAFTA Los Angeles Grows 2019 Newcomers Program Ranks
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) today announced the 2019 participants for its prestigious Newcomers Program. Since last year's expansion to include international talent beyond the U.K., BAFTA Los Angeles has become a hub for international rising talent in the U.S., and the program continues to further deliver BAFTA's mission to promote cultural exchange and strengthen global collaboration, with its most international group yet. This year, participants hail from across the globe, with representation from the U.K., Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Nigeria, Poland, South Africa and Turkey.
Reelz Debuts Two More Original Series Podcasts on PodcastOne
REELZ today announced that two more of its original series are headed to PodcastOne with the launch of Autopsy: The Last Hours of... on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 and Copycat Killers on Thursday, November 21, 2019. New podcasts for episodes of both Autopsy: The Last Hours of... and Copycat Killers will be available every week on Apple Podcasts and PodcastOne. Both Autopsy: The Last Hours of... and Copycat Killers podcasts were originally slated to debut in 2020 but advanced to this year in response to customer demand based on the success of the network's Murder Made Me Famous podcasts on PodcastOne.
BAFTA Announces 2019 Student Film Awards Finalists
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has today announced the nine finalists for the 2019 BAFTA Student Film Awards presented by Global Student Accommodation (GSA). Following a record number of submissions for this year's Awards, the finalists have been selected from over 550 submissions by students at film schools in 38 countries across the world, including the U.K., the U.S., France, Germany, Australia, China, Switzerland, Estonia, Brazil, Norway, Mexico, Israel, India, Pakistan, South Korea, Chile, Uruguay, Finland, The Netherlands, Portugal and more.
MTC Announces Full Cast For CONTINUITY
Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce the complete casting for the world premiere of Continuity, the new play by Lortel and Drama Desk Award nominee Bess Wohl (Small Mouth Sounds, American Hero) and directed by Tony Award nominee Rachel Chavkin (Hadestown; Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812). Today, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA LA) announced the expansion of its Newcomers Program to include international participants for the first time. Launched in 2007 to support British talents transitioning to Los Angeles, the program recognizes the fruitful legacy of international talents moving to the U.S. to further their knowledge, develop their skills, and strengthen their network of peers.
