Interview: Jon Robyns and David Thaxton of LES MISERABLES Discuss Singing the Wrong Lines, Cast Camaraderie and the Show's Evolution

BroadwayWorld UK had the chance to interview David Thaxton and Jon Robyns, who currently play Javert and Jean Valjean respectively, in the iconic show Les Misérables. On a Zoom meeting from their dressing room, the two actors talked about their years of playing a variety of roles, their struggles with muscle memory, and what Les Mis means to them.

I first saw Les Misérables on 27 August, 2011, and I've been back definitely upwards of 15 in London, and a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Broadway! The score is stunning and never fails to give me goosebumps no matter how many times I hear it.

It's been 30 years since Claude-Michel Schönberg &Alain Boublil's phenomenon of a musical opened in London. LES MISERABLES originally opened in London at the Barbican Theatre on October 8, 1985. It transferred to the Palace Theatre on 4 December 1985 where it ran for 19 years before moving to its current home at the Queen's Theatre on 3 April 2004 where it has already played for 11 years and looks set to at least equal the run at the Palace Theatre as it is still playing to standing room only. When Les Miserables celebrated its 21st London birthday on 8 October 2006, it became the World's Longest Running Musical, surpassing the record previously held by Cats in London's West End.
