Review: THEN, NOW & NEXT, Southwark Playhouse
The writers want so badly for this to be a soberly romantic mix between The Notebook and The Bridges of Madison County via Dear Evan Hansen, but only manage to hit the nails of its coffin. It’s unexciting, unengaging, and as deep as a rivulet. The characters are one-dimensional figurines, including the protagonist, whose only personality trait is her grief and inability to love anyone else but Stephen.

In historian Orlando Figes’ debut play, Flaubert’s friends Ivan Turgenev, Émile Zola, and George Sand urge him to either strip down his writing to please the masses or get a temporary job to fend off his creditors. The Oyster Problem debuts at Jermyn Street Theatre directed by Philip Wilson in a stiff and stuffy production.
National Theatre Of Scotland Announces New Digital And Streamed Theatre Projects
The National Theatre of Scotland is set to continue its new work over the coming months, with an innovative mix of streamed theatre and digital projects, including two new productions from leading Scottish creatives Hannah Lavery and Adura Onashile, both addressing urgent contemporary and historical issues around race in Scotland today.
Photo Flash: WAITRESS Goes Pink To Support Breast Cancer Awareness
Waitress changed its iconic character uniforms from blue to pink on 18 October for Wear It Pink Day 2019 in support of the charity Breast Cancer Now. The waitresses - Lucie Jones as Jenna, Laura Baldwin as Dawn and Sandra Marvin as Becky – all took to the stage in special pink costumes for the evening performance at the Adelphi Theatre for the fundraising event. In total, £1260.75 was raised from collections at the theatre which will go towards funding breast cancer research and life-changing support. Cast members also went pink for the pre-show warm up and took on the 'Waitress Pie Challenge' after being nominated by their counterparts in the Broadway production to draw attention to and generate support for the cause.
Tamlyn Henderson Joins the West End Cast of WAITRESS
It is today announced that Tamlyn Henderson will join the London cast of Waitress the musical from 9 September in the role of Earl. Henderson has performed across the world including in the UK and international tour of Mamma Mia and Australian productions of Les Misérables and The Sound of Music. He will take over the role from Peter Hannah who has his final performance on 7 September. West End performer Cindy Belliott will also join the ensemble following Nicole Raquel Dennis's last show on 7 September. As recently announced, YouTuber and Strictly 2018 finalist Joe Sugg will also join the cast from 9 September, making his theatrical debut in the role of Ogie.
Joe Sugg Will Join The Cast Of WAITRESS in London
YouTube star, filmmaker, author, vlogger and 2018 Strictly Come Dancing finalist Joe Sugg will make his stage debut in London's brand-new smash hit musical comedy Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre from 9 September. He will join the West End cast in the role of Ogie, taking over from Blake Harrison, well known as Neil from The Inbetweeners, who will mark his final performance on Saturday 7 September.
Andrew Boyer to Join the Cast of WAITRESS as Old Joe
Waitress has today announced Andrew Boyer will join the smash hit West End musical in the role of Old Joe from 12 August. Boyer's previous credits include UK tours for Of Mice and Men and Shawshank Redemption, TV series Law & Orderand he has recently completed filming for HBO's upcoming series Avenue 5. He will take over the role from Shaun Prendergast, as previously seen as DC Holt in EastEnders and who will mark his final performance on 10 August.

Waitress continues a celebrated West End run at the Adelphi Theatre and today announces an extension by popular demand with tickets now on sale for Christmas and New Year through to 4 January 2020. Tickets for the hit comedy musical are on sale now.
WAITRESS Announces The Next Cast Album Karaoke Night on 17 July
The next Waitress London Cast Album Karaoke Night has been confirmed for Wednesday July 17th. Audience members who want to take part just need to sign up before that evening's show for the chance to sing one minute of any song from Waitress - live on stage at the Adelphi and accompanied by the show's musical director Katharine Woolley. Hosts and further details about the event will be announced in due course.
WAITRESS Announces New Pie Partnership With Bread Ahead
Waitress today announces a new pie partnership with London bakery Bread Ahead which will be making and selling the show's famous fresh pies each night in association with the original creators, Cute As Cake of New York. Bread Ahead, well known for its Borough Market, Chelsea and Soho bakeries, will be making the delicious Waitress pie jars in apple crumble, chocolate salted caramel and lemon raspberry flavours which will be available to audience members at the Adelphi Theatre. The Waitress pie jars were originally created by Cute As Cake (@cuteascakenyc) for the New York production currently in its 3rd year on Broadway. www.cuteascake.com
