SHAKESPEARE LIVES! Shakespeare Troupe Of South Florida To Offer Training In Classical Acting
Shakespeare Lives!, an intensive 10-day workshop created by Shakespeare Troupe of South Florida, will offer students ages 13 – 22 the opportunity to study many facets of classical acting. Classes will take place at Sol Theatre in Boca Raton from July 24th through August 4th. The program is spearheaded by Shakespeare Troupe founder Peter Galman.

Marty's Back in Town!, Playwright Norman Shabel's comedic drama about the ups and downs of a dysfunctional family and their relationships with each other and with the “black sheep” who is returning home after 10 years, will run at the Alan and Diane Lieberman Theatre at the Michael-Ann Russel JCC in Miami from March 9 – 19, and at The Studio at Mizner Park in Boca Raton from March 24 – April 2nd.

The production stars Drama Desk Award winner Andr a Burns as ex-showgirl Billie Dawn, fresh off her recent Broadway performance as Gloria Fajardo in On Your Feet!, the musical based on the life and music of Emilio and Gloria Estefan.

The Outre Theatre Company presents the first production of its 2017/18 season, George Orwell's 1984, in its new home at the recently opened Pompano Beach Cultural Center. The play 1984 is based on George Orwell's dystopian novel published in 1949. In 2005 the novel was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels. Many of its terms and concepts, such as Big Brother, doublethink, thoughtcrime, cold war, and Newspeak have permanently entered into common use since its first publication.
