Sara Porter Productions Presents L-E-A-K at The Theatre Centre This Month

Sara Porter Productions has announced L-E-A-K, a fresh new dance work that explores the ecosexual notions of falling in love with the ocean, inspired by the Bay of Fundy, home to the highest tides in the world. Choreographed by Sara Porter and performed by Sara Porter and Jessie Garon, L-E-A-K will be presented at The Theatre Centre, from May 18, 2023, to May 21, 2023.

On July 22, 2018, I was privileged to attend the singular showing of A Man of Dance/Vincent Warren, at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center. This film is a celebration of the life of Vincent Warren (1938 - 2017) written and directed by Marie Brodeur.

His is a tale worth telling, the story of a man and the road he travelled, recounted in a documentary that by extension celebrates important and compelling moments of our recent history.

Special guest renowned ballerina Evelyn Hart in a new work by Matjash Mrozewski, dynamic duo Ric Brown and Darryl Tracy in a duet by Lesandra Dodson (New Brunswick), moving dance force Heidi Latsky (NYC), Older & Reckless favourites Daniel Firth and Jane Mappin (Montreal) plus the masterful Sashar Zarif, take to the stage Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11 for three shows only at Harbourfront Centre Theatre.
DanceWorks to Present Vancouver's Company 605

DanceWorks, Toronto's longest running contemporary dance series, presents the Toronto premiere of Vital Few, a new work from Vancouver's acclaimed Company 605 that pushes the highly dynamic company into new physical territory. This collaborative undertaking for six dancers, utilizing mechanisms of constant co-dependence and interrelation between the dancers, is on a national tour, stopping in Toronto for one night only - Saturday, May 7 at 8pm - at Harbourfront Centre's Fleck Dance Theatre as part of NextSteps.

DanceWorks Launches 37th Season with FTFP's WITH A TRACE, Now thru Sept 21

DanceWorks, Toronto's longest-running contemporary dance series now in its 37th season, launches its 2013-14 Mainstage Series presenting with a trace from firstthingsfirst productions (ftfp), a mixed program of two solos and a duet by acclaimed choreographers Peggy Baker, Valerie Calamand Melanie Demers. Performed by ftfp's Co-Artistic Directors Kate Holden and Kate Franklin, along with Marc Boivin, with a trace runs today, September 19 to Saturday, September 21 at Harbourfront Centre's Enwave Theatre.
