Roger Q. Mason received the Los Angeles New Play Project award from UCLA for their play HIDE AND HIDE, part of a trilogy exploring California's history and gentrification. The world premiere is set for May 2025.
Winners Of LANPP Grants Announced
Los Angeles New Play Project has released the names of the three playwrights who have each been awarded $20,000 grants for their original work. These plays will be presented on stages in Los Angeles County with an additional grant up to $20,000 to each of the producing entities in support of the productions. All three playwrights are based in Los Angeles.

Acclaimed actresses Jane Kaczmarek ("Malcolm in the Middle") and Kate Burton ("Gray's Anatomy") star in a staged reading of the riveting drama Kindertransport by Diane Samuels presented by the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in conjunction with producers Patty Glaser, Paula Holt, Perla Karney and Karen Winnick on Sunday, November 11, 2018, 2 pm, in the Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis. Directed by Deborah Lavine, the "moving, thought-provoking play," (Variety)inspired by one of the lesser known but most moving stories of the Holocaust explores the life of a child saved during the Kindertransport, the British humanitarian effort that rescued nearly 10,000 Jewish children prior to World War II. The performance celebrates the 80thAnniversary of the Kindertransport and a portion of proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust.
LA Stage Alliance Receives Major Grant from The Ahmanson Foundation
Los Angeles-based The Ahmanson Foundation has approved a major grant to LA STAGE Alliance, the region's arts service organization for stage work. The grant is for a two-year project in support of a digital platform for ticketing, listings, reviews, and journalism that is easily accessible for residents of and visitors to the greater Los Angeles area.

'COLOGNE, Or The Ways Evil Enters The World.' the short story, was first published by Windfall Press. Its production history began in 1999 at Highways in Santa Monica starring the author, and under David Schweizer's direction continued at The Tiffany Theatre in West Hollywood produced by Paula Holt & Eileen T'Kaye. It subsequently played at Theatre 150, Ojai, at The Evidence Room, LA, at Santa Fe Playhouse, New Mexico, Off-Broadway at the Rattlestick Theatre (adding Suzi Dietz to the producing team), and finally at the Lavender Footlights Festival in Miami. The current production marks the debut of Harry Hart-Browne in the role and the first time an actor other than the playwright has assayed the role.
