Paul Feig, Sarah Barnett Join Keynote Summit Series Speaker Lineup For Banff World Media Festival
The Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) is proud to announce Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-nominated director, producer, screenwriter and activist Paul Feig (“Bridesmaids,” Freaks and Geeks, The Office), and Sarah Barnett, President, Entertainment Networks, for AMC Networks as keynotes within the Festival's 40th Anniversary Summit Series, a premium speaker lineup featuring the boldest voices and the world's most influential media leaders. PBS Announces 'Ken Burns Presents The Gene: An Intimate History,' New Collaboration with Siddhartha Mukherjee, M.D. Three-Hour Documentary to Premiere Spring 2020
Today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, PBS announced KEN BURNS PRESENTS THE GENE: AN INTIMATE HISTORY, a new three-hour documentary executive produced by Ken Burns, will premiere over three nights in Spring 2020 on PBS. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Siddhartha Mukherjee, M.D., and acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns will collaborate on the new documentary inspired by Mukherjee's best-selling 2016 book, The Gene: An Intimate History. Award-winning filmmaker Barak Goodman will produce and, in addition to Burns and Goodman, the film will largely have the same production team behind the Emmy Award-nominated CANCER: THE EMPEROR OF ALL MALADIES, an adaption of Mukherjee's earlier 2010 book that aired in 2015 on PBS.

Tonight at the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, AOL, PBS and Simple facial skincare will host a red-carpet premiere for 'MAKERS: Women Who Make America,' the PBS documentary film which serves as the broadcast extension to MAKERS, a first-of-its-kind multiplatform video initiative that aims to become the largest collection of women's stories ever assembled. The event will bring together more than 56 notable MAKERS women, including Katie Couric, Gloria Steinem and Martha Stewart, as well as VIPs Allison Williams, Kelly Rutherford and Kyra Sedgwick, AOL CEO Tim Armstrong, PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger, WETA President and CEO Sharon Percy Rockefeller and Unilever North America EVP of Personal Care, Gina Boswell who will gather to celebrate over a half century of women's achievements.
